Broadly, it means that you won't be able to buy or download new games on the 3DS or Wii U eShop after 27th March 2023, and you also won't be able to purchase in-game content, download demos or free-to-play software, redeem download codes, or add funds to your account on 3DS or Wii U.
I don't get why they don't simply just remove the Classic Games they want to preserve and remove ANY and ALL Retail games from the shop! Where the only things downloadable are EShop Exclusives, Demos, DLC, and Older Classic Games that AREN'T on the Switches list.....
What to Do: Go to and sign in to your Nintendo Account. How to
Click "Menu" in the upper-left corner, then click "Your points".
Open your Point Log, locate the reward you're looking for in the list, then click "Review your download code".
The download code will appear on your screen.
You can redeem the download code in Nintendo eShop on a Wii U console or Nintendo 3DS family system.
On February 15th, 2022, Nintendo announced making purchases in the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShops would be discontinued in late March 2023, making it impossible to download Super Smash Bros. 4's DLC. Adding funds by credit cards on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U was disabled on May 23rd, 2022, while adding funds by Nintendo eShop Cards on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U was disabled on August 29th, 2022. However, redeeming download codes and using wallet funds merged with a Nintendo Switch account will be possible until March 27th, 2023.
Nintendo has offered a brief guide on what to do if you reside in an affected region, asking that players take action before the end of July. The recommended precautions include redownloading any previously-downloaded software, checking the eShop for any updates available for already purchased software, and redeeming any download codes that have yet to be redeemed.
The Rock Band Music Store allows players to preview andpurchase downloadable individual music tracks and packs from thevast selection of offerings available to date without ever leavingthe game as they build their own custom Rock Band library. Gamers can also preview and download new music from the RockBand online music store, which currently offers complete albumswith more than 500 tracks, with new content added weekly.
